Courses start every Monday, all the courses start every Monday, except these following courses: the Spanish course for beginners, the Intensive Dance Choreography and the Three-Month courses, which all begin every second Monday.
Courses for one week duration, it's possible to book almost every course for only one week.
Course guarantee,  we organize the course you reserved even if you're the only one enrolled, though with half the number of hours scheduled.
New Three-Month courses, a wide offering of courses which you can book for at least 3 months or more, making your education more profound.
Academic Mentor, for all the Three-Month courses. We will assign a mentor for every student to provide individual academic assistance.
Certificate of knowledge level, for all the Three-Month courses. The mentor in cooperation with the academic team will make an evaluation reflecting the level of achievement on the certificate that will be issued from the school.

New in the Spanish program:
Tutorials in groups, every day, before class, there will be a free half an hour of tutoring for Spanish classes of each level. This involves aid and support from a tutor.
Half Intensive Spanish Course, for all levels from beginners to proficiency.

New in the flamenco program:
Intensive Dance Technique Course, one and a half hour of dance technique daily, for all levels, starting every Monday.
Intensive Guitar Course, one and a half hour of class daily, starting every Monday, from one week to three months duration and more.
Intensive Compas (Rhthm) Course, one hour of class daily for all levels, beginner, intermediate and advanced, starting every Monday, from 1 to 4 weeks duration.

Carmen de las Cuevas is linked with your city! We are participating in a campaign sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce to finance low-cost flights within Europe, uniting Granada with other European cities.

If you will be in Granada from July 21 to August 15, you can take in this fantastic flamenco program, including dancing, guitar, and singing by outstanding artists. The program will be available at the beginning of June.

From June 23 to 27 Mercedes Ruiz will teach a course for advanced and professional levels. The advanced level class will be a tangos from 10:30h to 12:00h, and the professional level will be soleá from 12:15 to 13:45. Also, on the 9th of June Patricia Guerrero will begin an advanced level course here at the school. As you all know, Patricia was awarded first prize for dance in the Festival de las Minas de la Unión in 2007.

Carmen de las Cuevas Spanish Language School is adapting its Spanish teaching levels according to the recommendations of the European Council. These levels are the following:  A1 and A2 (Basic), B1 and B2 (Intermediate), and C1 and C2 (Advanced).  The levels of our courses are: Beginner (A1), Elementary (A2), Lower-intermediate (A2-B1), Upper-intermediate (B1), Advanced (B2-C1), Proficiency (C2).  If you´d like to know more click here

Since the 12th of February, the Cervantes Institute has been broadcasting a daily information program, in which the most interesting and relevant news pieces related to current Spanish culture are collected and shared. This news piece is part of Television Cervantes, with continual programming.

On the 3rd of May we will celebrate the Day of the Cross and the week of the 19 to the 25 of May, the Corpus. These two festivals are the most representative of Granada. In the first, crosses beautifully decorated with flowers are erected throughout the city, and people gather around them to dance sevillanas. Corpus lasts all week and is celebrated mainly in the fairground, where there is food, drink, music and dancing under the "casetas", or tents.  A good time is sure to be had where tradition meets la fiesta!http://www.granadatur.com/cultura/fiestas/dia-de-la-cruz/

Our statistics tell us that 26.4% of the students who attend our courses have come in previous years; and we figure, if so many students keep coming back, there must be a reason...

For some time Carmen de las Cuevas has been organizing successful flamenco workshops, of one hour length, specially designed for groups (student trips, agencies, etc) that are travelling through Granada and would like a unique and distinctive introduction to the world of flamenco. The workshops can include dance or flamenco compas (rhythm) and are intended for participants without any prior knowledge of flamenco.We also organize private concerts for groups consisting of a flamenco theory class illustrated with song, dance, and guitar music. Many of our participants choose to finish the evening off by attending a flamenco show in a nearby tablao, which can also be organized through the school.

You have until the 18 of April to register in the next exam session to obtain your  DELE Diploma of the Cervantes Institute. Did you know that Carmen de las Cuevas is a recognized centre for preparing for these exams? You can take a preparatory course with us and at the end take the DELE exam in Granada on the 23 of May. If you begin April 28 you can take the course over 4 weeks, or over 2 weeks if you begin the 12 of May.

Between the 3rd and the 6th of April more than 30 prestigious authors and writers from all over the globe will be in Granada for the Hay Festival Alhambra 2008, a union of East and West.The meetings are made unique by their conversational format .The "Hay" are conversations that occur on stage between two thinkers or writers, who afterwards invite questions from the audience. In Granada, these conversations will last 45 minutes, after which the public may ask questions during the last 15.

This is one of the most eagerly anticipated early summer festivals in Spain. The Festival enjoys a long and illustrious history, having its origins in symphony concerts celebrated in the Alhambra Palace since 1883, and in the 1922 Concourse of Cante Jondo (flamenco ´deep song´), attended by figures such as Federico Garcia Lorca, Manuel de Falla, Ramon Gomez de la Serna and other intellectuals and artists of the day. Take a look at the program and don´t hesitate to reserve your seats over the Internet! If you are set on coming, you should try to reserve the first day that tickets go on sale, as the Festival is very popular and seats disappear quickly. At the same time as the official program in June, there is a parallel citywide program offering many interesting performances, many of them outdoors and free. Flamenco forms a large part of the content of the Festival´s program.(+INFO)

The Festival turns 20! Considered one of the most important celebrated outside of Argentina, it takes place in Granada from the 4th to the 9th of March. The program, featuring parallel performances and activities all over the city, is now available. (PROGRAM)
